Online Training

I can conduct training sessions anywhere in the world. You don't need specialized equipment, just let me know what your goals are. If you are interested in training, email me at [email protected].

Group Training

If you have a field location with nets or a backyard, I can bring the balls and the training equipment! Groups of 3-4 are perfect unless a parent wants to hop in a shoot! If you are interested in training, email me at L[email protected].

1 on 1 Training

This is the best training if you are looking to get better fast. The sessions would range from an hour to two hours with breaks throughout if it is a long session. You would explain your goals, and that's what we would work on. If you are interested in training, email me at [email protected].

What To Expect

During your training sessions, you will do drills to improve your athleticism. You can expect to do some sprinting, step drills with resistance bands, footwork drills (ladders), jumps, and lots of repetitions. This is not your average goalie camp where you just get shots and then you are done; you will be sweating. But this is what will take you to the next level. Not only will we focus on improving your athleticism; we will also work on perfecting it.

  1. How to take an 8 meter
  2. How to efficiently move in the crease
  3. Arc and angles
  4. Steps
  5. Low shot technique
  6. Clears

These are just a list of what to expect but of course, if you have something different in mind like communicating in the cage or the mental side of the game, we can discuss that as well.

About Lydia

Hi, I'm Lydia Akins, a current lacrosse goalie at Endicott College in Beverly, MA. I started playing the position sophomore year of high school, after growing up playing soccer and hockey. My school didn't have a varsity goalie on our roster so they asked me to step up to the position and lead the team. After growing a passion for the position and committing to play at Endicott College—a top D3 school—in less than a year of experience, I started every game during my sophomore year and earned Second Team All-CCC honors. Now that you've got all of that out of the way, let's get to business: Whether you are just starting your goalie career or ten years in, you've found what you're looking for. I've been a coach for the past three years working with Edina Youth lacrosse goalies; Peak Goalie Camps; MN Elite girls lacrosse.  I have a background in strength and conditioning and worked at ETS Performance Central, a sports performance facility for athletes. I worked with all levels, ages and genders so I know what works best for some kids and what doesn't. Goalies are often chosen based on their lack of athleticism, but I am here to change that narrative.
